the living wage bill, passed by nyc city council on april 30, 2012, would have obligated any private development project directly accepting $1 million or more in taxpayer subsidies to pay employees a living wage of $10/hour with supplemental health benefits or $11.50/hour without benefits.

bloomberg vetoed the bill on may 31, 2012.

city council overrides bloomberg’s veto on june 29, 2012.
